As a USA Volleyball junior volleyball program, Club Cactus Juniors Volleyball is committed to providing quality training (both physically and psychologically) and competition. This competitive athletic experience can enhance social development, contribute to mental and physical health, and teach the values of teamwork, goal-setting, responsibility, self discipline, and self-motivation.
Since 1994, CCJ has provided the highest level of training in Southern Arizona and has been recognized nationally as one of the nation's top clubs. In July 2001, CCJ 181 won the Bronze Medal at the USA Volleyball Junior Olympic Championships. In January 2005, CCJ became the only Arizona club team to win the 18-Open division at Southern California's 2005 Boys' Invitational Classic
CCJ's main objective is to provide the most comprehensive volleyball education in Southern Arizona. The training sessions are managed and orangized within a season plan (training cycles) that ensure that all athletes receive the same techincal instruction. All feedback is provided in a fun and challenging environment.
CCJ's coaching staff consists of current and former collegiate players, as well some of the top high school coaches in Southern Arizona. All coaches are directed under the guidance of CCJ Director and Head Coach Bill Lang, promoting consistent training among all teams. Lang is also the head coach at Ironwood Ridge High School - where he was named Arizona boys' Coach of the Year in 2004 and 2005 by the Arizona Coaches' Association. He recently took over the Nighthawk boys' program (after a 3 year hitatus) and led Ironwood Ridge to the 5A-II State semi-finals - the first playoff wins for Ironwood Ridge in 3 years. Coach Lang was one of the State's first boy's juniors volleyball coaches when he helped start the CCJ boys' program in 1994 and was the 181 coach for 5 years.
